What Did St Albans City & District Council Want?
The launch of a new refuse collection service is a difficult and sensitive process. We were chosen to design and develop marketing material to inform the public about the launch of a new wheelie bin service to replace the existing refuse sack collection service. The public needed to be informed about when, how and where their new black bins would be delivered; what could and couldn’t be placed in them and crucially, when they would be collected. The information needed to be concise, avoiding confusion and taking into account residents who might need to receive an alternative service due to their circumstances.
Our Solution
We like a challenge and we thrive on being thrown in at the deep end and this project was indicative of this. With a bare bones brief, we worked with St Albans City and District Council firstly to flesh out the brief and then to develop a complete project plan. Concepts for a launch pack and advertising campaign were designed and content for all promotional pieces was researched and analysed before being copywritten in an informative but friendly tone. The pack was then designed and a photo shoot undertaken. Artwork needed to take into account eight different variations across the District. We also handled the tender process for the printing and fulfillment of the campaign along with advertising for the duration of the launch.
